Once in a great while I visit a restaurant and find an entree that I consider superb. I find that I absolutely have to order it every time I go back.
Manuel's is one of those places. Located one block off Hwy 100, at 313 Maxan, the restaurant is in a small, non-descript building. Once inside, the building maintains a bare-bones look - small area, concrete floors and plain tables. Sports memorabilia decorates the walls.
However, the food is at the opposite end of the spectrum - large servings, homemade, authentic and a delight to the senses. Talk to anyone who eats there and they will tell you that every item they've tried is excellent.
Talk to my husband and me and we will tell you that the Chicken Fajita con todo enchilada style is magnificent. That's all we can tell you because we've never gotten past that to order anything else.
It's huge - we split it - and it is consistently a treat. Add homemade chips and salsa and it's an great meal.
The restaurant is operated by a family and it's easy to get to know them. Their service is excellent, they exude friendliness, and always a dose of humor.
The lines can be long but the wait is well worth it. They have daily specials but you know what I'd recommend. Hours are Tuesday-Sunday 7:00am to 2:00pm,
